Jamaica corporate tax rate

Corporate income tax under the Income Tax Act, administered by Tax Administration Jamaica. Jamaica applies a split headline rate: unregulated companies and regulated companies are taxed at different rates, so this series carries the standard (unregulated-company) rate with the regulated rate in notes.

Current value25 percent (unregulated companies; 33.33% for regulated companies — see notes)

What this value means

SPLIT RATE — the single number 25% is only the unregulated-company rate. Full schedule: 25% unregulated companies; 33⅓% REGULATED companies (those regulated by the Bank of Jamaica, the Financial Services Commission, the Office of Utilities Regulation, or the Ministry of Finance — i.e. banks, other deposit-taking institutions, securities dealers, insurance intermediaries and regulated utilities); 30% building societies; 25% life assurance companies. The 25%/33⅓% split has been in place since 1 January 2013 and was unchanged by the FY2026/27 Budget (tabled 12 February 2026), whose measures were confined to GCT on digital services, SCT on sweetened beverages, alcohol and cigarettes, the Environmental Protection Levy (0.5% to 0.8%), removal of a GCT exemption on officials' motor vehicles and the 2027 tourism GCT increase — no corporate rate change. Separate levies not modelled here: minimum business tax history, asset tax (heavier for regulated financial institutions), the 25% withholding-type charges on distributions, and Education Tax/NIS/NHT payroll contributions. ACCESS PROBLEM: the Income Tax Act at laws.moj.gov.jm is an image-only scanned PDF, and Tax Administration Jamaica's portal (jamaicatax.gov.jm) surfaces its rate tables only inside linked publication PDFs rather than in page HTML — and its GCT page is demonstrably stale (see the vat series), so TAJ pages should not be trusted uncorroborated. Jamaica Information Service, the Government's official information agency, is the citable source here.
