IMPORTANT: Ley 8/90 no longer applies — Ley 7544/2025 (promulgated 03-09-2025) expressly repealed Leyes 8/90, 715/1995, 1601/2000, 1723/2001 and 4531/2011 (Art. 9) and added a NEW feriado, 20 June (Día de la Jura de la Constitución Nacional). Movable feriados (Art. 2): 1 Mar, 12 Jun, 20 Jun and 29 Sep — the Executive may move each by decree to the adjacent Monday (Art. 3). 2026 traslados verified: Decreto N° 5508 (Feb 2026) moved 1 Mar (Sunday) to Mon 2 Mar (https://www.radionacional.gov.py/2026/02/17/ejecutivo-decreta-traslado-del-feriado-del-dia-de-los-heroes-al-lunes-2-de-marzo/); Decreto N° 6215 of 9 June 2026 moved 20 Jun (Saturday) to Mon 22 Jun (decree facsimile: https://grupovierci.brightspotcdn.com/39/cd/808fd5cf4b2a91e60a5b066dcbd0/decreto-6215-traslado-feriado-20-al-22-de-junio.pdf). Boquerón caveat: the government's published 2026 calendar plans moving Tue 29 Sep to Mon 28 Sep, but traslado decrees are issued weeks before each date and NONE had been issued as of 2026-07-16, so the statutory 29 Sep is served — re-verify in September. Additional feriados: Art. 4 allows up to three extra feriados per year by decree; Decreto N° 6280 of 29 June 2026 declared Tue 30 Jun 2026 a one-off feriado for Paraguay's World Cup round-of-16 qualification (beat Germany on penalties) — with the World Cup final on 19 Jul 2026, further one-off feriados remain possible. Asuetos (Art. 7) are NOT feriados: they are working days granting time off only to public administration staff and are excluded from this list. Semana Santa feriados are the movable-feast Thursday and Friday (2-3 Apr in 2026). 2027 NOT SERVED - HELD (2026-07-30). Paraguay's holiday framework was entirely replaced by Ley N 7544/2025 (promulgated 3 September 2025, Gaceta Oficial N 200), which repealed Leyes 08/90, 715/1995, 1601/2000, 1723/2001 - the old Monday-transfer law - and 4531/2011. Under the new art. 2 exactly four holidays are movable (1 March, 12 June, 20 June and 29 September), and art. 3 authorises the Executive to move them ANNUALLY BY DECREE to the Monday EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER the holiday. That discretion is the problem: in 2027 those four fall on a Monday, a Saturday, a Sunday and a Wednesday, so each could legitimately land on any of two or three different dates, and no rule determines which. Art. 4 additionally lets the Executive create up to three extra national holidays per year. No 2027 decree existed as at 30 July 2026 (Paraguay issues these late in the preceding year), so nearly a third of the calendar is genuinely indeterminate and we refuse 2027 Paraguayan working-day and settlement questions rather than guess a direction. The nine fixed holidays are known - 1 January, Holy Thursday 25 March, Good Friday 26 March, 1 May, 14-15 May, 15 August, 8 December and 25 December - and 2027 will be served as soon as the decree is published.
