Two fixed statutory rates, both static since the 19th-century codes: commercial mora 6% annual from the day after maturity absent an agreed rate (CCom art. 362), civil legal interest 9% annual (CCF art. 2395). Both are annual simple rates; anatocism is prohibited in the civil code (CCF art. 2397). The commercial 6% is served as the headline because it answers the late-payment question; the civil 9% is the variant, and blending them is a common aggregator error. Verified against editions current to the reform of DOF 14-11-2025 — art. 362 and art. 2395 both unreformed.
