Salario Mínimo Nacional — single national statutory wage floor in bolivianos per month, applicable to public and private sectors, set by Decreto Supremo with retroactive effect to 1 January of the year. Bolivia has one national floor (no regional or sectoral minimum-wage matrix).

A 20% jump over the 2025 SMN of Bs 2,750 — the largest percentage rise in a decade — following 20.40% CPI inflation in 2025; signed by President Rodrigo Paz Pereira. REGIME CHANGE in 2026: the decree came in mid-January (historically issued ~1 May with retroactivity) and abandoned the decades-old universal obligatory percentage increase for salaries above the floor — DS 5516 Art. 21 leaves above-minimum pay to libre negociación between employers and workers; only levelling every wage up to the Bs 3,300 'piso inderogable' is mandatory, and RM 088/26 bars offsetting the rise via direct or indirect reductions of other remuneration components. Single national floor — no departmental/sector matrix (contrast Guatemala/Costa Rica).
