Reference month June 2026, published early July 2026 — the latest available at confirmation. Companion figures from the same release: monthly (mensual) inflation +0.13% (vs -0.12% in June 2025); accumulated Jan-Jun 2026 +2.17% (vs +0.91% in the same period of 2025); inflación subyacente (core) interanual 3.08% (vs 2.87% in June 2025); prior-year comparator, June 2025 interanual, was 0.89%. Ten of the twelve COICOP divisions contributed positively in the month, led by Restaurantes y hoteles (+0.83%) and Alimentos y bebidas no alcohólicas (+0.24%); Recreación y cultura fell -3.77%. Inflation has re-accelerated through 2026 from roughly 3% to nearly 4%, which is the backdrop to the BCN pausing its easing cycle after the January cut. TRAP: do not take Nicaraguan CPI from the Consejo Monetario Centroamericano (SECMCA) secondary tables — they lag and were the basis of press reports quoting 3.72% for May well into June.
