Barbados inflation rate (CPI)
Point-to-point (12-month) change in the all-items Retail Price Index compiled by the Barbados Statistical Service. Barbados' official consumer price measure is the RPI (base July 2018 = 100 since the January 2023 rebasing), not a 'CPI'; the BSS and the Central Bank also headline a 12-month moving average inflation rate.

What this value means
REFERENCE MONTH IS FEBRUARY 2026 — this is the most recent point-to-point figure PUBLISHED by an official Barbadian source as at 23 Jul 2026, not the most recent calendar month. Barbadian price statistics run with an unusually long lag and the release channels are degraded (see access notes). Companion measure from the same release: the 12-month moving average inflation rate was 1.1% at end-February 2026, 0.2pp higher than a year earlier, driven by restaurant services, recreation and culture, education, transport and health services. The CBB's Outlook for Barbados' Economy (updated April 2026) projects inflation 'within a range of 2 to 2.6 percent over the short to medium term', with upside from commodity prices and geopolitics partly offset by electricity subsidies, fuel support and hedging — a FORECAST, not a fact; do not serve it. ACCESS PROBLEMS (do not point a source-watcher at these blindly): (1) The Barbados Statistical Service site stats.gov.bb — the canonical RPI publisher, including its 'Inflation Tables: Point to Point Percentage Change in the All Items Index' page — has an EXPIRED TLS CERTIFICATE and could not be fetched at confirmation. (2) The Central Bank's own 'Inflation and Retail Price Index' download page is STALE: its newest file is 'Retail Price Index (RPI) and Rate of Inflation 1965 - October 2024', posted 31 Mar 2025 (https://www.centralbank.org.bb/news/inflation-and-retail-price-index/). (3) Consequently the reliable official channel for current inflation is the CBB's quarterly Review of Barbados' Economy and the accompanying press conference — published late January (full prior year), late April (Q1), late July (H1) and late October (Q1-Q3). The Jan-Jun 2026 review was due around end-July 2026 and had not been published at confirmation; re-pull then. (4) The RPI was rebased to July 2018 = 100 with a revised basket from January 2023, so index levels before and after are not directly comparable.
